A Gift to Klein Forest High School Seniors From Their Parents

In the late 1980's to early 1990's, the nation recognized an alarming rate of accidents, injuries and deaths related to activities occurring after prom celebrations for graduating high school seniors. In 90% of those cases, drugs and/or alcohol were involved. Soon, active parents across the country banded together to provide a viable alternative to protect their children, just as these children were to begin their adult lives. The challenge before them was to provide an event that not only entertained and engaged teenagers, but provided memories which would last a lifetime. More importantly, it would keep them safe throughout the night.

The challenge is to provide an alternative choice that effectively competes with the age-old ritual of "partying all night and driving down to Galveston". In order to accomplish this, it takes months of planning, coordination, cooperation, fund-raising, volunteering, and most importantly parents who care. For over a decade, Klein Forest and its parents have produced Celebration After Prom events. These events provided a safe, fun, and memorable environment which saved lives!
